VIRIDOR WASTE MANAGEMENT CREDITS:

In 2015 we found another sponsor who have supported us with grants of 90% of the claims made to them for a new higher boundary fence between ourselves and Paignton Cricket Club, to help prevent cricket balls being hit over onto the bowling green, whereby injury may have been caused to bowlers. This grants was in excess of £30,000.

In late 2015 we made application for a further grant to extend and improve our clubhouse, with also a request for some additional items of specialised equipment for use by the green keeper. Just before Christmas we received news that we had a received a further grant of just over £80,000 to allow us to carry out the building project and complete same before the new season started in 2016.

Thanks to Viridor we have managed to complete two phases of an on going project to improve the grounds and facilities at the club, but unfortunately they have ceased to have the item which is needed to qualify for grants, namely a landfill site within 10 miles of the applicants premises, as this has since closed but a very big thanks you to Viridor.

2018 (phase 3) saw the club improve the roof of the toilet building, which now houses the ladies changing room and both sets of toilets. The tiles were removed, new batons and felt fixed before the tiles were cleaned and replaced to comply with Council wishes in respect of local buildings. Although the application was managed by Viridor the grant of just over £10,000 came from acompany called Pennon.

2019 (phase 4) was put into operation and once again thanks to Viridor and Pennon we were granted further funds for new specialised equipment in order that the green can be maintained to a high standard. We were also granted funds to upgrade our kitchen and its equipment so that when catering we comply with health and hygiene.
